'HAQEEQI AZADI' MARCH FROM WAZIRABAD IS RESUMED BY PTI

The long march by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) began on Thursday from the same location in Wazirabad where party leader Imran Khan was hurt during an attempted assassination.

Imran was shot in the leg during a parade, which abruptly ended PTI's Haqeeqi Azadi march, which sought early and fair elections.

During the PTI's Haqeeqi Azadi march, a gunman opened fire close to the PTI reception camp at Allahwala Chowk, injuring the former prime minister and several other PTI leaders. Shah Mahmood Qureshi declared in front of the party's followers that PTI would continue to fight for independence despite an attempted assassination. According to Qureshi, Imran Khan, the party's head, will shortly join his supporters in the arduous march to Islamabad.
