PM SHEHBAZ SHARIF Prolongs Visit to London

 LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who was scheduled to leave for Pakistan on Friday night, has decided to stay in London longer, according to sources cited by ARY News on Saturday.


After attending the Climate Implementation Summit in Sharm Al Sheikh, Egypt, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif flew privately to London on Wednesday.


According to sources aware of the development, PM Shehbaz has decided to stay in London for one more day and will now depart for Pakistan on either Sunday or Monday. Prior to the appointment of the new army chief, this is PM Shehbaz's third visit to London since taking office as the nation's top official in April.

The selection of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) was discussed during the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, accorAding to confirmation from Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Friday.In response to media rumours surrounding the army chief's appointment, Asif stated that although there had been conversations, a decision had not yet been made.

Asif stated that the constitutional procedure would be followed in making the decision to designate the COAS.


Imran Khan, the PTI chairman and former prime minister, is welcome to speak with the current prime minister Shehbaz Sharif, although a consultation on the COAS nomination was not included in his statement from october.
